Successful Club Projects: Filling Christmas Stockings for the Salvation Army; Serving meals at the Roanoke Rescue Mission; Co-Sponsoring SHARE with St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Vinton; Playing Bingo at Adult Daycare Center; Providing Scholarships to William Byrd High School and Staunton River High School; Showering Ronald McDonald House, The Roanoke YWCA Women's Center, and Turning Point Shelter with handmade tote bags filled with personal care items.

The GFWC Woman's Club of Vinton is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations under Section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code).

Our club holds regular monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  The location of the meeting may change, but is usually held at the Charles Hill Senior Center in Vinton, VA.

The club is a member of the GFWC Virginia federation, an organization with approximately 7000 membership. GFWC Virginia was organized in 1907 and in 2007, the federation celebrated 100 years of service. http://www.GFWCVirginia.org.   The parent organization, the General Federation of Women's Clubs, was established in 1890.  GFWC is the largest women's volunteer organization in the world with a membership of approximately 135,972 with 3,981 clubs in the U.S. plus additional international members.  http://www.GFWC.org.  The Vinton club is also a member of the Blue Ridge District, an organization composed of 13 clubs in Southwestern Virginia.  Blue Ridge is one of eight districts in the State of Virginia.
